Safety, At
Every Stage.

Safety is built into everything we do. Through careful planning, ongoing training, and shared responsibility, we ensure our people, partners, and visitors return home safely — every day.

Sustainability,
Committed to the Work.

Sustainability is a long-term commitment that shapes how we approach exploration from the start. We build an understanding of the land and environment through baseline studies and field work, exceed industry standards and best practices, and use that knowledge to guide decisions as each stage moves forward.

Community icon

Community, On
the Ground.

With a team that has worked in the Chilkat Valley since 2006, continuity shapes how the Palmer Project operates. We share updates on our work and stay engaged with the community, listening, contributing, and collaborating as projects move forward.

Critical Minerals

The materials behind how things work.

At the Palmer Project we are exploring for copper, zinc and other critical minerals in Southeast Alaska.

Connected Communities

Copper and silver are fundamental to moving electricity, through power lines, local energy systems, and the infrastructure that keeps communities connected.

the Coast

Zinc protects steel used in ports, transport, and infrastructure, extending the life of systems in coastal and northern climate.

On the
Move

Copper, silver, and gold are used in e-bikes, navigation systems, tools, and the electronics used for transportation, field work, and critical systems including search and rescue and defence operations.

The Palmer Project

A Brief History

Discovery:

In 1969 copper and zinc mineralization is discovered in the Glacier Creek prospect area by local prospector Merrill Palmer, giving the project its name.

Southeast Alaska Land-Use Planning:

In 1994 the Alaska Mental Health Trust selects over 87,000 acres in the Chilkat Valley for its mineral potential to support AMHT beneficiaries. This followed important work establishing and protecting the Bald Eagle Preserve and Haines State Forest completed in 1982.

Early Exploration:

Over the past forty years companies have explored the area, completing regional geological, geochemical, and geophysical surveys and diamond drilling, to gain a better understanding of the mineral potential of the region.

Engagement &
Environmental Baseline:

In 2008, community engagement and baseline environmental is initiated and advanced including data collection and reporting on wildlife and water quality, which continues today. Drilling programs advance to include release of a resource estimate.

Advancing Exploration, Engagement and Environmental Sustainability:

Building on the baseline studies, discoveries and data, the Palmer Team, continues to advance the project dedicated to safe, responsible resource development, focused on a shared prosperous future for Southeast Alaska.
Palmer Project:

Viszla Copper

In December 2025, Vizsla Copper Corp. acquired 100% ownership of the Palmer Project. The work is supported by an experienced team with a strong exploration background, and the Palmer-based team in Southeast Alaska that has been involved with the project and community over many years.
